Indonesia has been selected to host the World Cyber Games (WCG) 2024. As a notable figure in the Indonesian esports ecosystem in Indonesia who arranged the gaming and esports-related policies for the country, our managing partner Yudistira Adipratama, S.H., LL.M., attended the selection announcement as the Head of Law and Legality for the Esports Federation of Indonesia (PB ESI). The WCG, often referred to as the “Esports Olympics,” is an international esports competition that has been held annually since 2000, featuring multi-game titles with hundreds of athletes from around the world.
The opening ceremony took place on August 31, 2024, at the ICE BSD Hall, featuring competitions in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Tekken 8, Street Fighter 6, Valorant, and Crossfire. Representatives from Mineski, the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF), the International Esports Federation (IESF), and the Korean Embassy in Indonesia attended.
